Dr. Van Laeken traveled to Lahore, Pakistan on December 1 to December 6 2025 conduct free reconstructive surgeries. The surgeries were being conducted by a team of local surgeons in partnership with plastic surgeons from Reconstructing Women International.

Dr. Van Laeken conducted free reconstructive surgeries between March 27 - April 9 2025 at the Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa. The surgeries were conducted by a team of surgeons in partnership with plastic surgeons from Reconstructing Women International.

Dr. Van Laeken conducted free reconstructive surgeries at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital in Nairobi. The surgeries were conducted by a team of local surgeons, in collaboration with plastic surgeons from Reconstructing Women International.

A mission summary : From May 19th through to May 26th, 2022 a team from Reconstructing Women International participated in a surgical mission to the Aga Khan Hospital in Mombasa . In February, 2018 Dr. Van Laeken returned to India to the city of Vijayawada. With volunteers from Reconstructing Women International (formerly Women for Women) and local doctors she performed surgeries on patients who suffered domestic abuse and burn injuries. Prior to surgery, many of the patients who were treated were unable to work to provide for themselves and their families.

In December of 2016 Dr. Van Laeken returned to Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania, Africa with the Women for Women organization. While there she performed surgeries on women and children suffering from disfiguring and socially excluding injuries mainly resulting from burns and domestic abuse.
