What is Hylaform?
Hylaform is Hylaform is a modified form of hyaluronan, a naturally
occurring substance found in the skin and throughout the body.
Hylaform mimics the same hydrating and elevating functions of
hyaluronan, which keeps the skin moist and elastic.
How Does Hylaform Work?
Hylaform is a gel that is injected beneath the skin surface
to replenish the loss of the skin's natural collagen support
layer, and to smooth facial wrinkles, and most types of scars.

Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
Glabellar lines (frown lines)
Vertical lip lines
Lips
Scars
How Long Will the Product Last? This is a non-permanent treatment option with a duration
of 3-6 months. The overall duration is dependant on several
factors including age, structure of the skin, and site of injection.
What is Involved in the Procedure and
will it be Uncomfortable?
The appointment will usually take 30 minutes and the result
is instant. A nerve block (similar to the freezing you receive
from the dentist) is commonly used prior to treatments of the
lips and the nasolabial region.
Is it Safe?
Hylaform requires no skin test, so treatment can be performed
on the initial office visit. It is produced from materials of
avian origin and contains trace amounts of avian protein. Patients
with known allergies to materials of avian origin should not
be treated with Hylaform.
Side effects can include swelling, redness, mild bruising and
tenderness at the site.
