What is Hylaform?
Hylaform is Hylaform is a modified form of hyaluronan, a naturally occurring substance found in the skin and throughout the body. Hylaform mimics the same hydrating and elevating functions of hyaluronan, which keeps the skin moist and elastic.

How Does Hylaform Work?
Hylaform is a gel that is injected beneath the skin surface to replenish the loss of the skin's natural collagen support layer, and to smooth facial wrinkles, and most types of scars.

What Areas can be Treated?
  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
  • Glabellar lines (frown lines)
  • Vertical lip lines
  • Lips
  • Scars
How Long Will the Product Last?
This is a non-permanent treatment option with a duration of 3-6 months. The overall duration is dependant on several factors including age, structure of the skin, and site of injection.

What is Involved in the Procedure and will it be Uncomfortable?
The appointment will usually take 30 minutes and the result is instant. A nerve block (similar to the freezing you receive from the dentist) is commonly used prior to treatments of the lips and the nasolabial region.

Is it Safe?
Hylaform requires no skin test, so treatment can be performed on the initial office visit. It is produced from materials of avian origin and contains trace amounts of avian protein. Patients with known allergies to materials of avian origin should not be treated with Hylaform.
