Is there a fee for consultation?
The cost for a cosmetic consultation is $110.00. If you book a surgical procedure within 6 months of the consult, the money will be credited toward your surgical fee.

How long is the wait to get in for a consult?
Approximately 3-5 weeks.

How much is surgery?
The cost varies depending on the procedure or procedures you are interested in, the amount of time needed in the OR, and if any implants are required.

Do you offer financing?
We are registered with Medicard. Financing is available in terms from 6 months up to 4 years. Brochures and applications are available through our office.

Is the procedure covered by any insurance plans or MSP?
Some procedures may be covered, if they are being carried out for a medical reason. (ie: breast reduction) Please contact our office for more information.

How long is the wait for surgery?
Cosmetic procedures can usually be booked within 4-6 weeks of seeing Dr. Van Laeken at either of the private surgical facilities that she operates at. For procedures covered by MSP the surgery will be booked at one of the public hospitals and you will be placed on a surgical wait list, which is approximately 12 months long.

How long should I take off from work?
This will depend on the procedure and the type of work that you do. For general guidelines, please refer to the page for the surgery you are interested in.

How long should I stop exercising for after surgery?
Again it depends on the type of surgery you are having. It is best to check with Dr. Van Laeken at the time of consultation.

What hospital does Dr. Van Laeken operate at?
B.C. Children's, Mount St. Joseph's, St. Vincent's, St. Paul's, False Creek Surgical Centre, and the Vancouver Plastic Surgery Centre.

May I see before and after pictures?
At the time of consultation Dr. Van Laeken would be happy to show you pictures of past patients who have had similar surgery to the one you are interested in.
