How long has Dr. Van Laeken been in practice?
Dr. Van Laeken has had her Plastic Surgery Practice for over 20 years.
Is there a fee for consultation?
The cost for a cosmetic consultation is $150.00 and will be credited toward your balance if surgery is completed within six months of the original quote.
How long is the wait to get in for a consult?
Approximately 4-6 weeks.
How much is surgery?
The cost varies depending on the procedure or procedures you are interested in, the amount of time needed in the OR, and if any implants are required. Our cosmetic coordinator will generate an itemized quote tailored to your specific requirements as outlined by Dr. Van Laeken.
Do you offer financing?
We are registered with Medicard. Financing is available in terms from 6 months up to
4 years. Brochures and applications are available through our office. Health and welfare trusts, as an alternative to group insurance are also available through The John Robinson Group. Please refer to our finance section.
Is the procedure covered by any insurance plans or MSP?
Some procedures may be covered, if they are implemented for medical reasons. Please contact our office for more information.
How long is the wait for surgery?
Cosmetic procedures can usually be booked within 4-6 weeks of seeing Dr. Van Laeken at either of the private surgical facilities that she operates at. For procedures covered by MSP, the surgery will be booked at one of the public hospitals and you will be placed on a surgical wait list, which is approximately 12 months-2 years long.
How long should I take off from work?
This will depend on the procedure and the type of work that you do. For general guidelines, please refer to the page for the surgery you are interested in. It is advisable to check with Dr. Van Laeken at the time of consultation regarding your particular situation.
How long should I stop exercising for after surgery?
Again it depends on the type of surgery you are having. Please see individual procedure page. It is best to check with Dr. Van Laeken at the time of consultation for a definitive answer based on your occupation or level of activity.
What hospital does Dr. Van Laeken operate at?
B.C. Children’s, Mount St. Joseph’s, St. Vincent’s, St. Paul’s, False Creek Surgical Centre, and the Cambie Surgery Centre.
May I see before and after pictures?
